About Studio Nirjara

established in 2015

The interest lies in the intimacies between textiles and
time. Hands beyond work, that through the garments intend
warm touch. Exuded from previous realms of art and crafts,
their methodologies unfold to create garments and layers
that become your carrier.

In the meandering lanes of Ahmedabad, CG Road, lies the
collated space, adapted from a residence, the space is
assigned to function as a studio, making and showcase space.
Quiet slow, gatherings invite our bonds often.

Nirjara remembers being at home, feet on ground aged 9,
mother around her talking about the textiles she was pulling
out of the trunk. The years lapsed, sarees, old fabrics and
her mental notes stuck with underlines of grace and ease.
The simplicity with which she held every piece and carried
it, became the elemental nature of realising Studio’s own
scape and linguistics

Since 2015, with an engagement from NIFT, Gandhinagar, she
has been fermenting the brand from collating artisans,
tailors and team that work intandem towards each notion.

Handcrafted

Every piece passes through many hands, each bringing something of their own to it. Skills learnt over years, little details patiently worked on, and a part of the person who made it.

Nostalgic

There is something familiar about the clothes we make. A little of what we remember, something from our mothers’ and grandmothers’ wardrobes, and pieces of the past that we find ourselves returning to.

Artisanal

We work alongside artisans who have spent years learning and practising their craft. Their hands bring to life the little details, techniques and traditions that become a part of every garment we make.
